WHO AND WHAT IS ENGAGE STATE 38?
COLORADO IS THE NATION’S 38TH STATE. ENGAGE STATE 38 IS A NEW, NON-PARTISAN ORGANIZATION THAT STRIVES TO CREATE SAFE SPACES FOR PUBLIC POLICY CONVERSATIONS.
PUBLIC POLICY DISCUSSIONS HAVE BECOME LESS AND LESS CIVIL IN RECENT YEARS, OFTEN DEVOLVING INTO HYPER-PARTISANSHIP, NAME CALLING, AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES. THE CAUSES ARE MANY, BUT ONE, AT LEAST HERE IN COLORADO, CERTAINLY IS THE SLOW DISAPPEARANCE OF PROGRAMS FOCUSED ON CIVICS AND POLICY EDUCATION.
COLORADO’S HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS FUTURE DEPENDS ON INFORMED COLORADOANS ENGAGING IN CIVIL DEBATE OF THE IMPORTANT PUBLIC POLICY DECISIONS AHEAD OF US. ENGAGE STATE 38 INTENDS TO ENCOURAGE THAT DIALOGUE BY OFFERING OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN ABOUT ISSUES IMPACTING OUR COMMUNITIES AND FELLOW CITIZENS.
ENGAGE STATE 38 GREW OUT OF DEEP LOVE FOR COLORADO. ITS FOUNDERS INCLUDE BRENDA MORRISON, LAURA EMBLETON, DEB OVERN, AND KELLI FRITTS. OTHERS HAVE INDICATED THE NEED FOR SUCH A PROGRAM, AND YOUR PARTICIPATION WILL BE SOUGHT AND WELCOME.

Immigration with Ashley Wheeland
Join us on April 24th at 6:00 pm to discuss Immigration in the 6th Congressional District.
Ashley Wheeland, Congressman Crow's District Director, will discuss the needs of immigrant families in the district, the broader migrant crisis, and the ICE/GEO facility oversite their office does. She will also speak about his legislative work and the issues the office is hearing about in the District.
